Sound Bath Sessions in Ottawa/Gatineau & Online

Sound bath session with crystal singing bowls and crystal flute Ottawa

WHAT IS A sound bath?

A sound bath is a restorative full-body deep-listening practice that guides your mind to slow down and your body to fully relax, so you can feel deep presence, stillness, and inner attunement.

Through overtone-emitting instruments layered and played in sequence, the sounds gently shift your brain waves from an active, alert state into something quieter and more expansive. It's an invitation to unplug from the high-stimulation of your everyday (the screens, the noise, the relentless pace) and simply arrive.

WHAT HAPPENS during a sound bath

You’ll be guided to find a comfortable position lying down on a mat, a couch, or a bed, or seated on a chair or cushion. Blankets, pillows, and an eye mask are encouraged so your whole body can settle and your focus can rest fully on the sound.

A brief guided body scan and breath awareness help you settle, after which the sound begins. You’ll hear instruments like the crystal flute, Himalayan and crystal singing bowls, chimes, shruti box, tuning forks, and voice.

This is a completely passive experience. There’s nothing to do, nothing to get right, and no prior experience needed. You simply receive.

a note on the music

I'm a classically trained flautist who studied at McGill University, one of Canada's top music schools, where I had the privilege of training with some of the world's best flute players.

That level of musicianship doesn't disappear when I step into a sound bath. It's woven through every session, in the phrasing, the listening, the breath, and the space between notes.

What you'll experience here is the intersection of decades of formal music training and real nervous system support. This is sound as medicine, played by someone who has devoted their life to the instrument.

WHO THIS IS for

This is for the woman who is living at full speed, navigating chronic stress, overwhelm, and the particular exhaustion of never fully landing in her body, no matter how much yoga or meditation she tries.

You're ready to slow the racing thoughts. To feel genuine restoration, even while life stays full. To let your nervous system do what it hasn't been allowed to do in a long time: rest.

You don't have to earn it, prepare for it, or do it right. You just have to show up.

For simple integration into your busy schedule, sound baths are available as private one-on-one sessions (virtual or Ottawa/Gatineau in-person) and as group experiences.

 FAQs

  • Yes! I use high quality professional equipment for my virtual offerings, so you can be sure to receive the best experience. Your mind and body still get all the same results as in-person. All you need is a pair of headphones!

  • Yes and no. Many folks find traditional meditation (like sitting upright in a quiet room and trying to focus only on the breath, a mantra, or silence) very challenging. Sound gives your brain something to focus on, while letting everything else soften and relax. You’ll be amazed at how sound can act as a support in quieting the mind and body, which can feel much more accessible.

  • No. Though you’ll hear many beautiful instruments, there are no lyrics or distinctive melodies or rhythms. The goal is to have your mind relax, so the sounds you hear are more like a soft, layered, experiential soundscape. This lets your mind take a back seat and stop trying to analyze every detail. The mind can then shift to becoming a non-judgemental observer.

  • Have anything on hand that brings you comfort, such as a mat to lie down on, blanket, pillow, or an eye mask.

If you’re tuning in virtually from home, you can listen from the comfort of your couch, bed, or even the bath tub! All you’ll need are a pair of headphones.
